Managed Content Updates
Let’s be honest, you’re too busy to update your website, no matter how easy it is to do. To get the full potential and value from your website, it is important to update it on a regular basis. If you don’t update your website on a regular basis, the search engines (Google) will think that your website is “dead” and they will stop indexing your website. Stay on Google’s good side – update your content regularly.
Let Honeycomb Creative manage your website. We’ll call you and add company news and events on a regular schedule, we can monitor the web for relevant news related to your industry and post links to those stories, – we can even write articles about your products or services.
Regular content updates are sure to keep the searchbots coming back to your website, but just to be sure, every month we’ll create a new sitemap, and submit that to Google. By adding content on a regular basis, Google will know that your website is active and deserves to appear in search results.

Website Offsite Backup (WOB)
Our standard website hosting package comes with alternate (every-other-day) backup of your website, but in the event of unauthorized changes to your website – if the changes are not noticed immediately, it is possible that your backup copies will become over written and therefore useless (we’ve seen this happen).
We use a backup company not affiliated with our hosting provider as additional protection against server failure and strongly recommend this extra “insurance” to all our clients.
Do I need this?: This is “extra” insurance – do you need it – not really. Should you have it – probably. Off-site backup is all about – worst case scenarios. Is your home insured?

Technical & Security Updates (TSU)
Website Technical & Security Updates are all about keeping your core website programming code up-to-date and as secure as possible. Nothing will stop a determined hacker – but not keeping your website programming up-to-date can make it easy for them. TSU includes the following:
Third party Updates
Update any third party plug-ins or modules to the latest version, and make any security upgrades that have come to our attention. *Does not include design updates that may be required during Master version updates of WordPress (i.e. v3.9 to 4.0) that may create layout and functionality changes.
Constant Monitoring
We will install a third-party monitoring service that will track changes to code files of your website and alert us of any “unplanned” changes so that we can investigate potential issues.
Performance Optimization
Once a month we will “optimize” database tables which will help your website run more efficiently.
Emergency Restoration
If anything “bad” does happen to your website we will prioritize restoration of your website at no extra charge.
Do I need this?: Yes – you do. Recommended for every website.
Misc Support Requests
After your website is complete, Honeycomb is there to provide you with any support that you require. From adding extra content, to cropping images to modifying functionality – we can help you with all your website needs.
Ongoing “As needed” Support
Historically we have provided this Support on “as needed” basis, and billed clients monthly or quarterly – and we will continue to do so. But due to high administrative costs for these – typically small requests – we are now offering clients the ability to advance purchase Support Credits Requests (SRC) at a reduced rate than our “as needed” hours and minimal charges rates.
Support Credits Requests (SRC)
Support Credits Requests are prepaid, non-refundable, non-expiring credits while you are a Honeycomb customer. We will provide you with quarterly statements (if requested) of your support usage, and notify you in advance before you run out of credits.
Support Request Credits can be used for any items except Emergency Restoration Requests.
This covers anything from small changes to your website that require programming, to website content changes, to saving custom format logo files – all the small things that you might need on an ongoing basis.

Business Class Hosting
Our Business class hosting package comes with unlimited bandwidth and unlimited storage – so you never have to worry about going over your limit. We have also optimized our hosting server for database driven websites and are very confident of our super-charged hosting environment. Our dedicated server hosting company provides us with 24 hour telephone support to resolve any emergency issues.
We have previously hosted websites in Vancouver, but due to the high earthquake risk, we decided to move our hosting to a more secure area. We spent six months testing hosting locations in Calgary, Toronto and Montreal, but found that network connection issues made these cities less reliable than US locations.
Our hosting is now located in the central and disaster safe city of Chicago, USA. Chicago serves as one of North America’s largest Internet hubs and is home to every major network provider. Chicago has been ranked as one of the safest cities in the United States with a very low risk for natural disasters ahead of other cities in Texas, California, Florida and the East Coast – all of which have a much greater risk for hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes and floods than Chicago.
Most of the fiber optics that connect the East and West coasts of the United States run through Chicago and this yields low latency to both coasts as well as to Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

Website SEO Maintenance Update
Every website requires annual SEO Maintenance to bring website pages to current best practices. As content is added to a website, it is common that not all SEO best practices would be applied. Titles become too long, keywords are forgotten – priorities change.
Some of the items that are completed during a SEO Maintenance Update include:
- Keyword phrase review with client
- Determine 10 key phrases that are optimized site wide
Review and update all website pages based on approved keyword phrases:
- Descriptions & Keywords META tags
- Fix any broken internal links
- Review Page Speed/Load times
- Update XML sitemap
- Update robots.txt file
- Resubmit website to Google and Bing/Yahoo
The cost of the SEO Maintenance Update is dependent upon the size of the website. Ask for a custom estimate for your website.
