When the California Medical Instrumentation Association (CMIA) sought to enhance their conference management system, they faced a pivotal decision: opt for an off-the-shelf solution or invest in custom development. CMIA Connect 2026 introduced new functionality to the 2024 event platform, featuring automated PDF poster generation for each room and event, a refund request system, and a “Who’s Coming” page showcasing attendee profiles. By eliminating recurring licensing fees and reducing reliance on third-party tools, CMIA achieved cost savings over time. This investment in custom development streamlined their operations and provided a flexible foundation for future enhancements.
