Who is California Medical Instrumentation Association?
The California Medical Instrumentation Association (CMIA) is dedicated to the promotion, education and information exchange of the state’s clinical biomedical engineering community.
Why a new website?
This website was built with the intent of using the development in years to come. The cost of the one-time development fee is less than the ongoing use of an out-of-the-box less customizable solution.
Were there any special client requirements?
New features are added with each event. The special requests for this project were:
- Automated production of PDF posters for each room/event with speakers & topics ready for printing
- A refund request system
- Who’s Coming page with profile photos and names
About the Project
The site’s layout is intuitive, featuring a structured navigation menu that allows users to easily access information about the conference schedule, speakers, exhibitors, and registration details. Interactive elements, such as the countdown timer for the upcoming conference and the integrated event galleries, add dynamic features that engage visitors. The inclusion of high-quality images from past events offers a glimpse into the conference atmosphere, fostering a sense of community and anticipation. Overall, the website effectively balances functionality with aesthetic appeal, serving as a comprehensive resource for attendees and exhibitors alike.
The development of the CMIA Connect 2026 project focused on building a robust, all-in-one platform to support every stage of the conference—from planning to on-site execution. In addition to core features like the conference schedule, participant registration, speaker application and registration (with comped ticket handling), and sponsor registration with exhibit table booking, we implemented several tools to streamline operations. These included real-time check-in tracking, on-demand badge printing, and a digital prize spinner. We added automated PDF poster generation for each room and event—complete with speaker names, topics, and ready-to-print layouts. A refund request system was built in to simplify financial follow-ups, and a “Who’s Coming” page was introduced to promote networking, featuring profile photos and names of registered participants. These added capabilities made the CMIA Connect 2026 platform not just a registration system, but a comprehensive event management solution.
